Parent Memo 1/24/20
Parent Memo: January 24, 2020
PRINCIPAL’S CORNER: Leading by example, this week’s Shout-Outs go to:
Azaleyah , gr 5, Azaleyah helps her classmates by encouraging them and remaining positive and eager to learn. When given a new assignment, her first instinct isn’t to moan and groan but to look forward to completing it. She is a great listener when other students are presenting and has an overall great outlook on school. Natalie , gr 7, Natalie showed great stewardship by staying a few moments at the end of class, without being asked, to pick up supplies others had left out. She helped to straighten up the room for the next class coming in.

SAVE THE DATE Hold onto MARCH 14th as the ST PATRICK’S SCHOOL FUN RUN! This is our biggest PTO sponsored event of the year, so please plan to attend. Tell all your friends, relatives, gym buddies, fellow racers….anybody you know who likes to run. IT IS AN OFFICIALLY TIMED EVENT and a great warm-up prep for the famous All American Run which takes place two weeks after ours. We will be sending more information home soon and flyers for you to post at your places of work, your gyms, your running clubs…anywhere that people could see about it. This is a great way to get your volunteer hours in as well. Don’t wait until the last minute to fulfill them as opportunities will be drawing to a close. For now, please save the date and spread the word!!!!
AMAZON SMILE PROGRAM Please see the flyer below to support the school with your Amazon purchases. If you shop through Amazon, sign up for an AMAZON SMILE account. It doesn’t change anything about your account other than a portion of your sales is donated to the school. I signed up right away, and I already have money in my donation account. I’m a Prime user but it doesn’t change anything about that. All I
have to remember to do is log in to smile.amazon.com instead of the regular Amazon. Everything else runs as usual. Please do this as it’s a way to support the school that is FREE TO YOU!!!!
TRUE TO YOURSELF TICKETS The school will receive 10 student tickets for the True to Yourself program held at FSU’s Seabrook Auditorium on February 1, at 7:00 pm. The event will focus on African American power movers who have made great imprints behind the scenes and in the film and entertainment industries. This talk will provide the community with an informed perspective on the topics regarding adversity, self-identity and the longevity in the entertainment industry as an African American. The event aims to reflect the diversity in the arts and cultural community through the power of storytelling and the sharing of knowledge and wisdom. The student tickets are first-come-first-served, so please call or email the school if you would like tickets. The student tickets are free, however, adult tickets would have to be purchased at or in advance of the event. Questions about the event can be directed to the Fayetteville Arts Council at [email protected]
