Parent Memo 10/18/19

This week’s Shout-Out’s go to:

Michael gr. 8: Michael has gone above and beyond in the Science Lab by cleaning up the lab after other students and taking care of the lab. It has been a great help for the teacher.

Hanna gr. 5: Hannah left her table at lunch and sat with a student who was sitting alone and feeling down. Hannah talked to her and helped cheer the student up.

Megan gr. 7: Megan saw a little girl crying and went over to console her and help her stop crying.

Brianna gr. 3: Brianna kindly assisted two students who could not get on their flag belts during PE. Her help allowed the class to start the activity earlier. She has a caring and compassionate attitude.

Sarah gr. 7: Sarah got a card and circulated it among the middle school students for encouraging words and gave the card to Ms. Carroll to cheer her up. Ms. Carroll’s mother is very ill and that has been weighing heavily on her mind. Sarah also sharpened all of Ms. Carroll’s pencils just to take that off of her plate.

Good job to all of our Shout-Out’s this week who represent our school so well.

In Service,

Ms. Laura

If your child was absent this week for School Picture Day, the make-up day will be November 14th. We’ll send a reminder.

  • There will be a non-spooky version of the Haunted House for the younger kids this year
  • Participating by decorating your trunk will earn you 3 service hours for the year.

The annual Trunk or Treat and Haunted House is October 26th from 6:30 – 8:30.  We also have a sign-up sheet if you would like to participate by decorating your trunk and passing out candy. We ask that, even if you are not decorating your trunk, every family send in one bag of candy which we use to help re-fill those trunks that run out of candy. We want to make sure there is plenty of candy to go around. In addition to the Trunk or Treating, there will be a Pumpkin Patch, a spooky Haunted House, a costume contest with prizes, and food for sale by the 8th grade class to help raise funds for their Washington DC trip in the spring. Come make it a fun evening with the family and bring friends! They don’t have to be part of the school to come join in the fun. Please see the flyers attached for details.

October 29th is the day you can buy at Chick-Fil-A and a percentage of the proceeds go to the school. This year is a little different, however. Now you MUST say you are with St. Patrick School so they code the purchase as such. It will appear on the receipt. If you don’t say this, then the purchase will not be credited to the school. Bring the receipt coded with spirit night to school in order to get the free dress day on November 4th and EAT MORE CHIKIN!!!!!

The school will perform its annual Veterans Day Program on Thursday, November 7th at 1:30 pm. Please join us for this moving tribute to our service men and women.

Students have been working hard in music class to prepare and are excited to present “We the People” in honor of our veterans.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the program!
