PRINCIPAL’S CORNER:

(I am out of the office this Friday, so we will save Shout-Outs this week until next week. Stay tuned)

 SCRIPS!!! BLACK FRIDAY SALE

Please seriously consider buying SCRIP gift cards to do your Black Friday shopping. If you use them on Black Friday, as any day, the school gets a percentage of the sale. SCRIP cards can be used for online purchases at SO MANY outlets. SCRIP are either physical gift cards OR eGift cards that you can order online and then use just like regular gift cards to shop at all of your favorite stores. Macy’s, Walmart’s, Amazon, HomeGoods, Kohl’s, Sprouts Farmers Market, Best Buy, Sam’s Club, etc. and the list goes on. There’s a store or restaurant for everyone on your shopping list. Go online and check out the huge list. Instructions are on the attachment below. Physical gift cards can be ordered by Monday, November 18th.  “Thank Scriping Day” is November 21st. On that day, you can earn up to 21% cash back for the school on ecards. SCRIP AWAY!!!!!

STUFF A TURKEY FOR CATHOLIC CHARITIES

The Student Council is sponsoring a STUFF A TURKEY for the holidays with all proceeds going to Catholic Charities. It will run November 18-22. Please see details on flyer attached below.

REPORT CARDS AND HONORS POLICY

Earlier this year, I discovered an incorrect edit in the family handbook. It escaped me during the proofreading phase, but let me clarify for you now the school Honors Policy for 1st and 2nd honors. It will be corrected as well in the family handbook for next year.

First Honors: All A’s in the academic areas (Religion, Reading, English, Social studies, Science, Math)

Second Honors: A minimum of two A’s and all other B’s in the academic areas.

Students may not receive lower than a “C” in handwriting.

A student may not receive any “U’s” or “N’s” in any special area class or on any conduct grade in any class.

Please note that report cards will be available on November 18th. Report cards will not be printed. They will be available online for viewing or printing if you want. Access to viewing report cards on Gradelink has been temporarily removed until 11/18, so that teachers can work on the report cards.

PARISH GIVING TREE

The Parish Christmas Giving Tree will be set up in the gathering space of the church on November 22 and remain until the weekend of December 14-15. This is the tree where you can take an ornament and provide something for a person or family in need. Please consider using a SCRIP card to buy what you want. It helps the family in need AND helps the school at the same time.

CHANGE TO HOT LUNCH PROGRAM

Please note that on Tuesdays, we will no longer be serving from Rise restaurant. It will be replaced by Moe’s starting on Tuesday, November 19th.

 ASBESTOS NOTIFICATION

AHERA regulations require the school to report annually regarding any asbestos that is present in the school building. Please be informed that the school does not have any asbestos in the building materials. We receive annual asbestos inspections (most recently September, 2019) and we maintain inspection reports on file with the diocese and we comply with EPA requirements for informing concerned people.

CHRISTMAS PARADE (repeated from last week)

Unfortunately, it looks as if St. Patrick will not have an entry in this year’s Rotary Christmas Parade. We have not been able to acquire a truck that met parade regulations for a float. Thanks to those who volunteered to be on the committee. Maybe next year!
