Parent Memo 2/7/20

Parent Memo: February 7, 2020

Shout-Out’s for this week go to:

David P. – gr 7 – David went out of his way to help a 5th grader who was struggling with his Math homework during Study Hall.

Kinley D. – gr KG – Kinley was being very helpful to a student who accidentally spilled his food during snack time. She stopped what she was doing and offered to help clean up the mess on the floor. She was a good friend and helped to keep the class looking nice and clean.

Emily S. – gr. 4 – Emily pitched in and helped so much throughout last Sunday’s Bake Sale. She served customers and helped with the clean-up too.

In Service,

Ms. Laura

Friday, February 13th and Monday, February 17th are NO SCHOOL days coming up. Mark your calendars and enjoy a long weekend.

It’s class contest time again. Turn in your Box Tops and scan/send in your receipts by February 10th to have them count toward the competition. The winning class will receive a treat of hot chocolate and donuts.

Unfortunately, St. Patrick’s will not have a girls’ soccer team this year. The cut off for registration was today because the league has to make the schedule. Although we opened it to 5th graders, we only had 6 girls register and we need at least 11 players to field a team at the minimum. That’s not counting extra players in case someone is sick or unable to attend. Maybe next year!

 2020-21 New Student Applications

Applications for all three K12 Programs will open January 31:

  • Encourage your prospective new student families to apply.
  • Emphasize that none of the programs make awards on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Families are advised to apply in February, but should not stress about applying on the opening day (January 31).
  • There is no advantage in any of the three programs for students on applications submitted on January 31 over February 10, for example.

Both the Disability Grant and Education Savings Account Programs

The new student applications open January 31, 2020 and close March 15, 2020.

The Opportunity Scholarship Program Only

The new student application opens January 31, 2020. The Priority Window closes March 1, 2020. The application will remain open until August 31, 2020 for students to be considered for the full 2020-21 school year, as funds remain available.

Hold onto MARCH 14th as the ST PATRICK’S SCHOOL FUN RUN! This is our biggest PTO sponsored event of the year, so please plan to attend. Tell all your friends, relatives, gym buddies, fellow racers….anybody you know who likes to run. IT IS AN OFFICIALLY TIMED EVENT and a great warm-up prep for the famous All American Run which takes place two weeks after ours. We will be sending more information home soon and flyers for you to post at your places of work, your gyms, your running clubs…anywhere that people could see about it. This is a great way to get your volunteer hours in as well. Don’t wait until the last minute to fulfill them as opportunities will be drawing to a close. For now, please save the date and spread the word!!!!

If you shop through Amazon, sign up for an AMAZON SMILE account. It doesn’t change anything about your account other than a portion of your sales is donated to the school. I signed up right away, and I already have money in my donation account. I’m a Prime user but it doesn’t change anything about that. All I have to remember to do is log in to smile.amazon.com instead of the regular Amazon. Everything else runs as usual. Please do this as it’s a way to support the school that is FREE TO YOU!!!!

St Patrick Church Parish is hosting a series of workshops aimed at supporting you in your vocation of marriage.
