PRINCIPAL’S CORNER: Believe it or not, it’s MAY and we are heading into the home stretch of our distance learning adventure. Since we were not able to participate in a number of activities that usually take the students’ time away from class, we will be able to finish the curriculum earlier than we would during the normal school calendar. Therefore, the last day of school for all students has been moved to May 22nd.
Currently, we are working up a plan to return school resources and allow you to pick up anything left in the classrooms that might belong to your student. I will inform you of that once we have it worked out. We want to exchange materials in the most efficient and health-conscious manner. Look for that information to be forthcoming.
I know that this has been a difficult journey for all of us, but we’re almost finished, and our parents been amazing partners along the way. Hang in there!

FACULTY CHANGE FOR NEXT YEAR It is with mixed feelings that I announce the resignation of Mrs. Amanda Rogers at the end of this school year. We are sad that she will be leaving us because she has served us so well both as a teacher and as a sports coach, but pleased and proud of her that she has secured a new position as Principal of St. Joseph Catholic School in Macon, Georgia. This is the career path that Mrs. Rogers was hoping to follow and, having finished her graduate degree in School Leadership, she was ready for this new challenge. We know she will do a fine job as their Principal and wish her the best of happiness and success in her new role.
WE HAVE A WINNER! 8th grader Victoria Romero won 3rd place in the NC State Jr. Historian competition that all of our 8th graders participate in annually. Way to represent Fayetteville and St. Patrick School! Congratulations to Victoria on her hard work.
PICK UP AND DROP OFF Our Friday pick up and drop off from 9-12 in the front area of the school lobby will continue as long as the school continues to remain closed.
UNIFORM FITTINGS The uniform fitting scheduled for May is cancelled, as expected. We will notify you as soon as it can be rescheduled. Flynn O’Hara said it would be sending out a concrete outline of their plans and resources by May 15th, so I’ll keep a watch out for that.
YEARBOOKS Have you ordered your yearbook yet? Well if not it isn’t too late. You still can order. Go to www.treering.com Click on buy yearbook Then you will see a small box for the school passcode(1015544792994061) Role is Parent Please do not hesitate to contact/email [email protected] if you have any questions. ACTIVE PARISHIONER SERVICE HOURS Required service hours for parents for the 2019-2020 school year will be cancelled. Those who have not earned any service hours this year will not be penalized. Those who have already accrued service hours will get a head start on next year as we will roll over your service hours already earned for this year into next year.
GRADE 8 MATH 1 EOC TEST The EOC test for the Grade 8 Math 1 (Algebra 1) class has been canceled for the 2019-2020 school year. Once the course is successfully completed by the student, the school will write an official letter stating that the student has successfully completed the standards for the course and the student can use this letter as proof that they have completed the 9th grade requirement, and they should be registered for the 10th grade math level course.
8th GRADE GRADUATION The 8th grade graduation will be scheduled for May 21st. We have gotten very creative with our format this year and are hosting a “drive-in” graduation. If you are old enough to remember drive-in movies, it’s kind of along those same lines. We think it’ll be fun and interactive while still maintaining social distancing rules. Sorry, though, only the graduate’s immediate family members (or as many as you can cram into one car) will be allowed to attend.
“SHAM” ROCK RESERVATIONS Please note that our SHAMROCK rock reservation forms are below if you’d like to reserve the rock to paint it for a special occasion this year or next year. You can drop off reservation forms and payments on Fridays from 9-12 when the office is open. There is someone inside the school at that time although we are maintaining social distancing, so don’t worry about leaving the forms or payments unattended.
