PRINCIPAL’S CORNER: I have been asked by a number of parents if the school will be offering any kind of summer program this year. The answer to that is a big “IF.” The opening of schools may be allowed “IF” the governor designates that schools are allowed to open during the Phase 2 of the reopening of the state. Phase 2 will go into effect “IF” phase 1 is successful and shows no spikes in new disease cases. So unfortunately, there are too many “IF’s” out there in order for us to make definitive plans at this time. “IF” all the circumstances are favorable, we are considering a short (2-3 weeks, possible) daycamp type of program. It will not be academic in nature and no frills, bells or whistles because we will have to pull it together literally at the last minute. It will be more of a day-camp, childcare alternative for our parents who need it. We will offer it only to our own school students. Unfortunately, we cannot definitively announce it or register students until the last minute to see if the circumstances allow. So, I’ll keep you updated on that. In the meantime, like everything in our lives lately, we wait and see.

THANK YOU TO OUR FAMILIES On behalf of the faculty and staff, I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to write notes of thanks or show their appreciation for their teachers during this Teacher Appreciation Week. Please know that we realize so many of you are also partnering in this process as teachers of your children, and we most definitely appreciate all you have done as well. The old adage “It takes a village to raise a child” has never been truer than of late. So, please accept our hearty THANK YOU and appreciation for our parents, our partner teachers in this distance learning process. God bless you all!
FINAL PICK UP/DROP OFF and REPORT CARDS The end of the year is soon upon us and below is the schedule and procedure we have devised to return all student materials and resources to school and to pick up anything left here plus final report cards while still maintaining social distancing and safety protocol.
Students are to return:
• All laptops borrowed from the school • All non-consumable textbooks or workbooks. (If they are books you write in, you can keep them as we do not re-use them.) • All dry-erase whiteboards or any other extra materials sent home by your teacher that belong to the class and not to you, personally.
• All school library books
• Will clean out all desks and cubbies and put any leftover items in plastic bags with students’ names on them • Will put all report cards and awards certificates in envelopes marked with the student names
• You will drive through the school pick up/drop off loop to the conference room door and give your name. You will hand in all your materials, and a member of admin will give you any materials your child has left here at school plus your report cards and awards certificates. • You will not be allowed to park and come into the school. If you are looking for a specific item that you know to be in the school, please email [email protected] and tell her where it is (other than the student desk or cubby because we will already have those ready) so that it can be retrieved in advance and added to your students’ pick up bag. • You will not be able to see teachers as they will not be on campus. Please email them as needed.
The schedule for pick up/drop off will be 9:00 am – 12:00 pm on all days: • Tuesday, May 26 – families with last names beginning with A-D • Wednesday, May 27 – families with last names beginning with E-L • Thursday, May 28 – families with last names beginning M-Q • Friday, May 29 – families with last names beginning R-Z as well as anyone who couldn’t make it on their designated day Please email [email protected] or [email protected] if you have any questions about this.
UNIFORM FITTINGS The uniform fitting scheduled for May is cancelled, as expected. We will notify you as soon as it can be rescheduled. Flynn O’Hara said it would be sending out a concrete outline of their plans and resources by May 15th, so I’ll keep a watch out for that.
YEARBOOKS Have you ordered your yearbook yet? Well if not it isn’t too late. You still can order. Go to www.treering.com Click on buy yearbook Then you will see a small box for the school passcode(1015544792994061) Role is Parent Please do not hesitate to contact/email [email protected] if you have any questions.
“SHAM” ROCK RESERVATIONS Please note that our SHAMROCK rock reservation forms are below if you’d like to reserve the rock to paint it for a special occasion this year or next year. You can drop off reservation forms and payments on Fridays from 9-12 when the office is open. There is someone inside the school at that time although we are maintaining social distancing, so don’t worry about leaving the forms or payments unattended.
