PARENT MEMO           Friday, October 25, 2019

PRINCIPAL’S CORNER:

We are pleased to see more and more Shout-Out’s being given from one student to another.

This week’s Shout-Out’s go to:

Sophia (gr 7) Sophia was being very helpful in showing Meghan from the 7th grade how to do the cheers.

Oliver (gr 6), Kaygan and Francesca (gr 7) – Are all peer tutors for the 4th grade students. They are kind and welcoming when they pick up the students. They work hard to help the students understand the concepts we are learning in class and to develop a positive attitude with them. Probably the best part is seeing how confident the students are when they return from tutoring.

Anna (gr 7) – Earlier this week, the 7th grade had a guest speaker visit. While the class was dismissing, Anna personally went up to the speaker and thanked him for visiting their class.

Olivia (gr 4) – Olivia picked up paper off of the floor in the Commons area without being told. She’s a good example of taking care of her school.

William (gr 5)- William actually got 3 Shout-Outs this week from 3 different people. Two were for his consideration in always holding the doors open for the teachers and for his fellow students, and the third was for helping the morning care supervisor clean out and organize the supply closet.

Amelia (gr 8 – not pictured – at a Leadership Conference today) – Amelia was honored by a 3rd grader whom she helped pick up his homework when his ride was waiting. Amelia is always super nice to him.

Jesse (PreK – pictured separately) – Jesse is a very kind boy, always helping teachers and making sure his friends are being taken care of when they need help.

Good job to all of our Shout-Out’s this week who represent our school so well.

In Service,

Ms. Laura

 TRUNK OR TREAT THIS WEEKEND!!!!!

ADDED NOTES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT:

  • There will be a non-spooky version of the Haunted House for the younger kids this year
  • Participating by decorating your trunk will earn you 3 service hours for the year.

The annual Trunk or Treat and Haunted House is October 26th from 6:30 – 8:30. Please see the attached flyer for details. We also have a sign-up sheet if you would like to participate by decorating your trunk and passing out candy. We ask that, even if you are not decorating your trunk, every family send in one bag of candy which we use to help re-fill those trunks that run out of candy. We want to make sure there is plenty of candy to go around. In addition to the Trunk or Treating, there will be a Pumpkin Patch, a spooky Haunted House, a costume contest with prizes, and food for sale by the 8th grade class to help raise funds for their Washington DC trip in the spring. Come make it a fun evening with the family and bring friends! They don’t have to be part of the school to come join in the fun. Please see the flyers attached for details.

BOOK FAIR

The Fall Book Fair is coming and running from October 28 – November 1st from 8:30 – 5:30. It’s a great way to pick up some early Christmas gifts for family and friends. The Book Fair will also be open during the Trunk or Treat this Saturday from 4:30 – 8:30 pm.

CHICK-FIL-A SPIRIT DAY

October 29th is the day you can buy at Chick-Fil-A and a percentage of the proceeds go to the school. This year is a little different, however. This year, you MUST say you are with St. Patrick School so they code the purchase as such. The code will appear on the receipt. If you don’t say this, then the purchase will not be credited to the school. Bring the receipt coded with spirit night to school in order to get the free dress day on November 4th and EAT MORE CHIKIN!!!!!
